Every place has a story. Ours is quite the tale – of ancient buildings and French countryside pleasures, artisan-crafted treasures and farm-fresh delights. Discover our 15th-century manor home, tucked amongst the vines and villages of the Charente, between Cognac and Bordeaux. Welcome to Château de Puygâty.
The Art Of Accomodation
We value character-filled patina in both new and old, from our brass tables hand-hammered by our local blacksmith to our painstakingly restored stone walls. The result is seven welcoming rooms that are not just a place to rest your head, but a true expression of place waiting to transport you to a simpler time.
Discover La Belle Vie
Through our medieval gates, the wonder of the undiscovered French countryside awaits. Admire Romanesque art and architecture without the crowds. Bicycle along pastoral backroads. Shop with locals at village farms and markets in-search of truffles, foie gras, honey, and more, followed by chef-led cooking classes. And then, the perfect complement – from vine to vine, the great wines of Bordeaux, houses of Cognac, and lesser-known spirits ready to be discovered.
The keys to our kingdom are yours to enjoy. Unlock our entire 15th-century château for family reunions, corporate retreats, group getaways, and more. Or, begin your own story with a wedding at Puygâty, and enjoy starlight dances in the shadow of ancient walls and epicurean delights from the surrounding countryside.
